Meet BRE.iSH | Artist Extraordinaire

We had the good fortune of connecting with BRE.iSH and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi BRE.iSH, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
Balance, in my opinion, is an art. Starting out it was very hard for me as an artist to go to school and work and manage to squeeze energy out that night at the studio. Then I became a bit better with time management, which includes treating my craft as a Priority instead of a reward. I allowed my self to be more free with creating, while still taking care of my life priorities as well. My music and its creation are the perfect break from reality, in fact it’s what keeps me mentally and emotionally balanced because I just leave it all in the booth. lol. I Realized, I had to change the way I looked at it. It was never balancing Life vs. Music but Music is the Balance to my life.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I Create. That’s the Short Version. Actually any and everything that I can. However, I can say my music is what brings me the most Traffic. I do in fact, believe the thing that sets me apart from everyone, not even just musically, is that I’m open and willing to try any creative venture just for the sake of it. I not only sing but I write and record all of my songs at home; I produce a great majority of them as well. That alone Excites me the most. It feels very good to Operate on my own and not need to collaborate, but very genuinely wanting to just to see what would come of it. I can’t say it’s been the easiest thing I’ve ever done though. Creating a Career from nothing is not a cake walk. Ive spent hours (I call them ugly hours) crying about content and lack of inspiration and other things that, at the end of the day, were just me momentarily being in my own way. I would say, if I could offer advise to anyone in any creative field, its Get Out Your Own Way.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We’re Going To Every Major Landmark I can think of, Starting in Inglewood ! After our morning smoothies, everyday we’d grab lunch from a local restaurant and prepare to brave each long day. local restaurants in most cases have wayyyyy better food options than franchises. I’d take her Downtown to LA Live to catch a vibe and see landmarks, and Fig & 7th for some light shopping afterward. Then we’d Link up with some other friends in Hollywood for some lituations. lol

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Of Course There is ! This is For Any and Everyone that has helped me either directly or indirectly whether it be through words of encouragement or even influence. I APPRECIATE IT ALL !
